Visiting the Philippines: Before Your Trip

Make sure you have everything ready before you leave for your trip to the Philippines. Here's a short checklist.

  • Passport. Check that your passport is valid for at least six months. Before your trip, renew your passport if it will expire within six months.
  • Visa. Citizens of treaty nations can stay in the Philippines for twenty-one days even without a visa. A passport that is valid for the next six months and an airplane ticket for the return trip are required. Visitors who intend to stay longer may get a Visa from the Philippine Embassy in their country.
  • Medical Records. Bring a photocopy of your medical history and test results.
  • Medicines. Bring enough prescription medicines to last your planned trip.
  • Vaccination. The CDC recommends vaccination for Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, Tetanus-Diphtheria and Measles for travelers to Southeast Asia. If you are not yet vaccinated, get the shots at least four weeks before your trip.
